Qxl Driver

This is not a problem but I'm just curious from running Arch in KVM with Red Hat, Inc. QXL paravirtual graphic card (rev 04) driver. Installing xf86-video-qxl from the AUR as mentioned here works fine but alternatively installing xorg-drivers pack from the official repo works just as well so I'm wondering what's going on. The QXL display driver is also included in the virtio Windows driver ISO file that you’ve downloaded. Right click on the Display adapters Microsoft Basic Display Adapter and click on Update driver. Now, click on Browse my computer for driver software. QXL driver is a video driver for the QEMU QXL video accelerator. It’s used for improving remote display performance and enhancing the graphic capabilities of the guest graphic system. However, standard VGA is supported when no driver exists. QXL QEMU driver Please note that all the information about video RAM sizes below should be taken with grain of salt. Nobody knows the perfect ultimate answer to that topic, there are different guest OS drivers and as stated above, things may completely change in oVirt 4. QXL video driver and SPICE client for display. QXL/SPICE is a high-performance display method. However, it is not designed to offer near-bare metal performance. PCI GPU passthrough PCI VGA/GPU passthrough via OVMF. PCI passthrough currently seems to be the most popular method for optimal performance.
